OS X Client Download

BellCommander OS X beta client for 10.3 (Panther) and 10.4 (Tiger)

The BellCommander OS X client allows audio to be streamed from a Windows PC running BellCommander to a Mac client running OS X 10.3 (Panther) or 10.4 (Tiger). The client was developed using Mono with several open source libraries.

To download the OS X client, you'll first need to download install the following libraries:

Mono Framework 1.2.4 - Download
The Mono Framework allows .Net applications to run on OS X. Download the OS X DMG file and install it as you would a standard download.

FFMpeg Library
The FFMpeg library allows the client to decode audio files. The source can be retrieved and built from http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/ We also have pre-built libraries available here. To use the pre-built libraries, unzip and extract the .tar file to the /usr/local/lib directory.

BellCommander Client - Download
After the libraries are installed, download the client. Then, unzip the file and extract the .tar file.

After extracting the files, configure the client by editing the BellCommanderClient.exe.config
Change the following values:
ClientName - Change this value to a name to identify the client. This name will appear in the Device Manager in BellCommander.
BellCommanderServer - Change this value to the IP address or the host name of the PC/server running BellCommander.

Finally,to run the client, enter the following command from the Terminal command line:
nohup mono BellCommanderClient.exe >/dev/null &

At this point, the client should appear in the Device Manager in BellCommander and you can send a test MP3 to the client.
